Anybody else here played the Japanese demo yet? If so, what do you think?
On another note, any idea if there's going to be a European demo?
(added 24/02/09) Right, the demo's been out a week now, and... it seems I'm the only one who's played it, or at least the only one who wants to talk about it. :(
It's actually a very good demo. You can play as any of the 'Three Kingdoms' characters from DW6 (that is, anyone from Wei, Wu and Shu - none of the 'Other' characters). That means the demo has 36 characters to choose from. Not only that, but you can also buy any of the character's weapons and use them no matter who you are playing as.
There is also a large choice of equipment to purchase, such as shiny shoes which allow you to double-jump or double-dash, as well as many others (most of which I don't know what they do... I don't speak Japanese :p ). You can also buy items which fit into the slots of your weapon, which do a variety of things from boosting stats to adding elemental attacks.
There are 3 missions in the demo: in the first, you have to get to and defeat a bandit-looking guy in a fort; the second, you have to defeat three officers spread out across the map; and finally, you have to defeat a certain powerful Yellow Turban (I guess it's Zhang Bao or Zhang Liang), which nets you one of the Yellow Turban territories for you chosen kingdom.
Whilst these missions are quite fun to do on your own, they are best when you take them on with friends. Yes, the demo has fully-working multiplayer, so you and up to 3 others can work together to earn gold and crystal-type things (used for making weapons and equipment).
Hopefully more people will get the demo and talk about it here... it feels kinda weird being the only one excited enough about Strikeforce to play the demo and want to discuss it ;)

I tend to avoid games in languages I cant read, as it causes headaches for me. I guess most will wait for a demo to come out in a language they can read, still that was interesting to read. An european demo would help people to open their mouths I guess, that couldnt get to places that might of had showings of strikeforce.

I played the Japanese demo and so did Insp. Chin and Gischie ^^ . It's good but not enough missions and no big boss monster to fight. I think UK people all played the TGS demo too much at London Expo, Memorabilia and Midlands Expo.

You can't really say there aren't enough missions. Most demos you get nowadays only have the first level (and in a few cases only part of the first level). Heck, when I got this I was expecting only to be able to play as Zhao Yun, either that or ZY, XD and SSX. And, I thought it would just throw me into the first mission and then the demo would end after that.
Yay for big demos! :D

Its just a personal opinion, but I think the Hu Luo gate stage with the big boss shows the game off better, certainly to non-Warriors fans ^^

I guess you're right, there should have been a monster boss mission in addition to the two 'defeat officer/s' and a 'defeat tough officer who can use Fury mode' missions. I was just saying that I was expecting a lot less than for it to have the monster fight or the content it did have.
At least it means the experience of fighting giant monsters will be something to look foward to in the actual game! ;)
BTW, I don't suppose there's any news about a European PSN demo, is there?

I'm only waiting on an English demo (and of course full release). The JP demo has been a blast to play & figure out the controls & new combat system, but there's no substitute for actually understanding what's going on.
I can't seem to get the demo to work. I keep getting this error saying "Cannot start game" with some code after it. I've tried downloading it like 10 times already. I think it's glitched for me.

Now that I've played the English demo (multiple times) I must say that the challenge indeed went up compared to the JP version.
I'm starting to see some of the AI difficulty complaints when going up against Lu Bu since he can enter Fury mode seemingly at will and use his musou quite often and remain in Fury mode. Maybe its because I'm kicking the crap out of him and he just keeps refilling his musou, I don't know, but whatever.
I'm sure the harder difficulty stages in the full release will be MUCH harder. In the meantime, I'm just trying to see how fast I can clear Hu Lao Gate without dying :D

It's hard. So need to pick the correct weapon. Like in Yellow Turban, those magicians are weak against TECH weapons so if you use Pang Tong or Xiao Qiao weps it would be a bonus as it will show you the GREEN target cursor (big damage to kill them off) and you'll get less damage when they attacking you as well.
As for Hu Lao Gate, the recommended weapon category is Pike (a Blue target cursor maybe) cause I don't think TECH or BOW or SPEAR would work well to kill Bi Xie, although BOW is strong in killing those tigers :D
And in later stage, what you need is FLOAT because you cant fall into water with some Life Auto Recovery (automatically recovering your life in every seconds), it really depends what you equip in the Chi list. :)

I think FLOAT is so over-rated Chi. It's jusst filling up a slot, but once you have triple jump and dash you dont really need it.

There's a later stage? I've played the euro demo a bunch of times both singleplayer and multiplayer, and both failed and completed Hu Lao Gate, and each time I finish it it just says 'That's the end of the demo, thanks for playing' or something similar and kicks me back to the Press Start screen.
Am I missing something here?
EDIT: Noticed you also mention the Yellow Turbans too... but since the demo seems to only have HLG, I'm starting to think you're talking 'bout the actual game... am I right?

I tried the demo yesterday. Having never played a DW game before I didn't know what to do... so I got mauled to death by tigers...
I guess the demo did it's job though, I do sorta want the game now! (even though I sucked at it) :D

Other than to equip the Iron Staff as your alternate weapon since it does the best damage against Bi Xie (Blue), Lu Bu (Green), the blade carts (Blue), etc, not really.
I finally paid attention to the map the other day and realized that there's another section to the left of where you fight the blade cart and Gao Shun (sp?) :p
In there, its just more tigers, another blade cart, and some sort of item with Diao Chan's name on it O.o
I've now been trying to include this area in my speed runs :D If only I could record off my PSP to share videos :(

I just played the Strikeforce demo AND the Multiraid demo. Both were amazing. I can't wait for this game. I've pre-ordered it at GAME too. :D
Personally the demo was more than expected , since you could alter your weapons , even change your secondary ones and alter the dashing and jumping techniques. Besides that the Hu lao gate stage was pretty short. going though the ram then general then through the door. you would already reach lubu and bi xue O_o

There's the section to the left after the ram+general. It has more tigers and another ram. Not much else, but you collect a rare item there ;)
