Oh gawd, so many awesome games coming out soon... Street Fighter IV is a must buy for me. I'm a huge huge fan of the 2D fighting genre and even though SF4 isn't actually a 2D fighter, it still plays like a 2D fighter.

At first I just completely hated this game because... well, it seemed to me like just another remake of Super Street Fighter II. It has all the original Street Fighter II characters and 4 new ones, just like SSF2.
But then they started adding more fighters into the console version and now... Now we have Cammy, Sakura, Rose, Fei Long, DAN HIBIKI!!!

I just can't miss this game!

I have never played a Street Fighter game in my life. I've always been drawn to the Tekken series & the Soul (Blade) Calibur series oh and Dead Or Alive.

Am i missing out on a good fighter?

^Yes you are! :D

I was really into SF2 when young, but haven't played since. This really wants me to get back into it. It just looks awesome and I will be buying on the day of release.

I have never played a Street Fighter game in my life. I've always been drawn to the Tekken series & the Soul (Blade) Calibur series oh and Dead Or Alive.

Am i missing out on a good fighter?Well to be honest. Soul Calibur IS awesome. It's definately one of the best 3D fighters series ever made. But Tekken and DoA... yeah, not so much... I was a fan of Tekken when I was a kid too. And DoA2 was the first game I got for my PS2. So I've played those games quite a bit.
But the problem with Tekken especially is that it's sluggish and it doesn't really require any skill. You can pretty much PWN any opponent with any character when you figure out the right move and the right timing for it. Just repeat that one move and you're unstoppable.
DoA on the other hand has a faster pace and in some ways it plays a bit like Soul Calibur. Still the system is really shallow and it feels unresponsive compared to SC.

The reason why I prefer 2D fighters is because in most games in this genre you really have to figure out the movelists for the characters. And the bosses are usually insane (yeah, Jinpachi was a wuss). So, you get sucked into practicing your moves, strategy and technique with each character. And if you wanna be really good, you need to be quite hardcore... It becomes almost like a religion.

Am i strange for hating all the earlier SF games? I've played them a little but i just can't like them for some reason, which is very unusual for me as i love almost all fighting games (and especially 2D fighting games like Melty Blood). And for some reason i really find a lot of the SF characters to be extremely ugly (which is probably because i don't like games where all the characters are very muscular).

I've had an up and down relation with this game since it was announced:

- Crimson Viper was shown, doesn't look very Street Fighter does she? Pinching the scrapbooks from the old SNK HQ when they shut me thinks.
- The entire SF2 cast shows up....whoop dee doo...I was kinda hoping for a bit more in the way of new characters, although Zangief is always welcome.
- Abel....looks...bland....In fairness though; he looks pretty good once he's in action, a strike and grapple character, something STreet Fighter's never had a lot of.
- El Fuerte = El Blaze.
- Rufus = Bob, but much worse. He doesn't seem to have an proportion other than being two balls.
- M.Bison's back - baw. But Vega and Balrog I'm glad enough to see.

So yeah, in the build up I was like a lot of people, pretty skeptical to say the least just for the fact it seems to have ditched a lot of progression in order to entice back players who haven't touched Street Fighter ( or any other fighting game probably ) for 15 years, at the expense of people who were hoping for something new or dynamic. But in fairness it looks pretty good in motion.

THe thing that's got me in the huff at the moment is the fact you have pay for the extra costumes. What ever happened to unlocking stuff?

Outi
04-02-09, 03:14 PM
Yeah at first I was completely turned off by the fact that no Street Fighter III characters made it to SFIV... I was so ready to hate this game... So ready not to buy it... But now I can't wait to get my hands on it.

M. Bison is very, VERY lame.
Rufus... nice pubic hair.
El Blaze... oh great, this is exactly what we needed...

But I quite like both C.Viper and Abel.

I heard somewhere that you can choose the VA option for each character, induvidually...I dont know if thats true of not, but that would be pretty awsome :p

Im not usually into the Street Fighter games(I usually go for Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat) but this game actually looks pretty good to get :)

I heard somewhere that you can choose the VA option for each character, induvidually...I dont know if thats true of not, but that would be pretty awsome :pThat would make sense 'cause I've seen trailers of this game where the characters have japanese voices, but there are also English in-game subtitles... And Japanese people don't need English subtitles for Japanese speech... So the trailers probably aren't from the Japanese version of the game.

I pre-ordered the collector's edition a few weeks ago, and I've been really excited about this game for months now. I can't wait for next Friday, I just hope the game won't be delayed or anything. Lol!! It's sung by Japanese band called EXILE (http://exile.jp/index.htm) (7 dudes) and they collaborated with Koda Kumi (the girl who sang FFX-2 theme song) before. They sang the Japanese version of this song first and the song called "THE NEXT DOOR", then they also sang this English version and the song called "INDESTRUCTIBLE" XD Their English is pretty good tho if you compare to the girl (Yuki Koyanagi) who sang the DW4 (Cross Colors) ending song or Koda Kumi herself lol!

Going to play!

Edit: I've been playing for 1 and a half hours. Awesome intro, good voices from what I've heard, and by the 4 battle it really starts to heat up. Just generally challenging and exciting.

I've been Ryu, Ken, Guile and Chunli.

How you getting on, Outi?

I've just beaten Seth today with Ryu. He took about an hour and a bit, but now since I've done it, it gave a huge confidence boost and has taught me how to play much better. He's excellent practice. So, you will find yourself getting owned in matches in and out, but you'll notice you come close in more and more and more. Just before I finally beat him, I knew I was going to eventually, after the 5th or so match near the end I kept getting insanely close to winning. I resorted to spamming Hadoken whenever the first connected and using the occasional spinning kick. Though the most useful would be his heavy hit kicks. You are able to kick him in the head from a flying kick and then sweep his legs straight after. Also, a focus level 2-3 attack can connect when he gets back up off the floor. One point I managed to do 5 focus attacks one after the other. I still lost that battle though. It's just random with your luck and him that does play a part, but keep at it and your shown signs of progress and will defeat him as time goes on.

This is advice to others.

Nova
21-02-09, 07:40 PM
I just beat the game with all characters ^^
There's this "bug" though, if you install the game on the HDD and get the patch (or so I've heard), which makes Seth really hard even on very easy. When I started playing I had some serious trouble beating him with some characters, so I guess it's true. I haven't tried playing online yet, but I'll probably do that today. So far I love the game though ;)

LittleDragonZ
21-02-09, 08:09 PM
Wow, you must have played a lot, I heard Seth was hard even on Very Easy. So you would have to have skill in order to beat him even when surfing to the final round, if you did on Easy?

You have any favorites?

I didn't get SFIV yet ;_;
I'm in lack of money, I couldn't get it for a while. Is it so awesome?

LittleDragonZ
21-02-09, 08:17 PM
Well, it's been a long time since I've played the series (since SF2.) So yeah, it brings back good old memories. The gameplay is there, complicated moves, I'm not so sure of the designs as I think most characters have too many muscles and it's a bit overboard. Ryu and Ken look quite ugly in it.

Outi
22-02-09, 08:01 AM
I've beat the game with all characters except Akuma, Gouken and Seth... obviously 'cause those are the only characters I haven't unlocked. I got kinda frustrated 'cause I didn't get to fight Akuma or Gouken even though I met all the requirements for unlocking them PLENTY OF TIMES... But then it turns out that if you adjust the timer in arcade mode (and possibly the number of rounds) you won't be able to unlock them. So... keep those timers at 99 and rounds at 3.
I adjusted the timer to infinite and the rounds to 7 because I was hunting for the combo trophies X(

I've also been completing some challenges in Challenge Mode.

I'm really happy that they put Dan Hibiki in the game. As a fan of SNK fighters, he's my absolute favourite out of all the Street Fighter characters.
Also, I really, really like C.Viper.

LittleDragonZ
22-02-09, 10:28 AM
Outi, you have the PS3 version? Can you help me with Chun-Li's challenge training? It's the first mission, move number 4. I can't seem to land and pull the spinning bird kick quick enough, as there's two stages beforehand that send Dan in the air, but by the time he lands he ends up blocking instantly. I can pull the move by pressing down, and then up and square at the same time, but it kinda needs time or she'll jump in the air.

You probably mean it's Chun-Li's 3th mission, not the 1st one. 'Cause the Spinning Bird kick isn't a task in the 1st mission.
I haven't beat that challenge either. The only characters which whom I've got past mission 3 in the trial mode are Ken, Ryu and... C.Viper maybe?

LittleDragonZ
22-02-09, 02:12 PM
It's in the first challenge on normal, but if you look at the top left when in you'll see a group of numbers, it was 4. The move went as follows, back and circle, circle, then down, up and square. I can't connect that spinning kick.

I've beaten almost every normal trial mode challenge and some on hard, so I'll redo that one and let you know how to do it. Just wait a sec. (Some challenges require you to chain the attacks in different ways, and sometimes it's hard to figure out how, like Guile's flash kick > double flash, that one took me a while to beat).

By the way, has anyone beaten Dhalsim's 3rd trial challenge (on normal)? I'm having problems with the first combo in that one <_<' (Medium kick > Yoga flame iirc).

EDIT:
If you mean Chun-Li's first trial mode challenge and the 5th combo (It says "04/07 Clear"), then you shouldn't do the spinning bird kick since it's not part of the combo. The combo goes "Kintekishu > Tenkukyaku > Tenshyokyaku".
You just need to do like this: [Left+Circle] > [Circle] > [Down,Up+Circle] with the default controls on ps3, facing right (no need to charge the Down,Up+Circle, since it's not spinning bird kick). I hope this helps ^^

LittleDragonZ
22-02-09, 04:03 PM
Yes, that's the one. But it's the kick where she spins in the air and propels are legs and charges at you! It's the down, up and square one! Mines default, too.

Outi
22-02-09, 04:24 PM
Well I don't know what's going on but the game didn't ask me to do any Spinning Bird Kicks in Chun-Li's first trial mission...

Nova

Yes, that's the one. But it's the kick where she spins in the air and propels are legs and charges at you! It's the down, up and square one! Mines default, too.

There is no [Down, Up+LP] attack for Chun-Li (LP = Square with default controls type A).
The spinning bird kick "where she spins in the air and propels are legs and charges at you!" is [Charge Down, Up+LK] (LK = Circle with default controls type A). However, don't do the spinning bird kick, just use Tenshyokyaku like it says. As I said in my last post, just press like this (facing right):
[Left+Circle] then [Circle] then [Down, Up+Circle], and when you do the [Down, Up+Circle], don't charge, just press down (don't hold) then quickly up+circle, it results in another kick if you do Kintekishu > Tenkukyaku first (it's a combo). If you charge the [Down, Up+Circle] you will just do the spinning bird kick, and it's not part of the combo =P.

Just try it out, I'm sure it will work ^^
(Just press the buttons like I said above)

( I'm still having trouble with Dhalsim's third trial =S )

Outi

Man I still don't know how to unlock Akuma.
I know you have to beat the arcade mode without using continues and with the timer set on 99. But what about the rounds? Some people say they set the rounds to 1. And what about the difficulty? It seems some people have unlocked Akuma on Easiest, some on Medium. And it appears that some haven't been able to unlock him even though they beat him on the Hardest difficulty without using continues and so on.
Also what the heck is the deal with the Perfect victories and Ultra Combo Finishes? Some sources say that you'll fight him if you get at least one perfect victory. Some sorces say it takes 2 perfects and 2 ultra combo finishes and some say that you won't be able to fight him if if you score any more than 2 perfects and/or ultra combo finishes!

Nova, how'd you unlock him?

Nova
22-02-09, 05:52 PM
Ok, I just lost all my save data (unlocked characters, colors, titles, movies, gallery, challenges etc). the game froze right when it was saving, and I had to shut it down with the power button, then everything was gone... (25+ hours of playing). I'm not in a very good mood right now :(
Thanks auto-save... (I'll get it all back though.)

Anyhow, I got Akuma by first unlocking Cammy, Dan, Sakura, Fei Long Rose and Gen, then I played through Arcade mode (I think I had 1 round and unlimited time set, on the easiest difficulty) and got 1 perfect and 1 ultra combo finish, and I didn't use any continues. I've heard that you must use a character that you've already beaten arcade mode with, but I'm not sure. I used Ryu, which I had already beaten arcade mode with before.

Outi
22-02-09, 07:27 PM
Uhm, yeah okay, I just read on GameTrailers that the patch I downloaded stops you from unlocking Akuma and Gouken on the easy difficulties. It must be medium or higher.

Also... I think I'll go for 1 perfect and 1 Ultra Combo Finish... I read that it's no less and no MORE than the required amount...

LittleDragonZ
22-02-09, 08:26 PM
I believe I've heard about something like not changing the rounds and timer, too. So do 3 rounds and 99.

I got fed up of fighting cheap Seth on Medium, it feels like fighting a master who counters your every move. I'm no expert on fighters, but I've been using all the games features to try and take him down. So, I tried him on the easiest and perfected him with Chun-Li... I don't want this either! I just don't want to have a few weeks worth at start, and not curse my way through him with every character! So I'll put it on the one below Normal and see what that does.

Nova
22-02-09, 09:29 PM
I just re-unlocked all characters (it took 3 hours and 23 minutes.)

I'm pretty sure I have that patch as well, unless it's a newer one.
Anyway, I re-unlocked Akuma about 15 minutes ago, and the first time I tried using Ken (which I hadn't beaten arcade mode with before on this save-file) and I got exactly 1 perfect and 1 ultra combo finish, yet Akuma was not unlocked. After I unlocked all characters (except for Seth, Gouken and Akuma), I tried with Ryu and got 1 ultra combo finish and 4 perfects, and I unlocked Akuma. I had the settings: easiest difficulty, 1 round, unlimited time. I don't think it matters how many ultra combo finishes/perfects you get, unless you get the requirements for unlocking Gouken (3 ultra combo finishes and 2 perfects).

Just make sure you don't lose any matches (not against Seth either) and use a character you've beaten arcade mode with before (I've only done it with Ryu, twice, so if nothing else works just try using him), and of course get 1 perfect and 1 ultra combo finish (more should also work, but try not to reach the requirements for Gouken).

That should work, I guess.

Outi
22-02-09, 09:56 PM
I unlocked Akuma too. Matches set to 1 and time to 99.
It would be pretty hard for me to unlock Akuma with a character that I haven't beaten the arcade mode yet since I've beat the arcade mode with all the characters. And I knew you weren't allowed to get KO'd at any point when unlocking Akuma.
I think the problem with me was either the difficulty setting or the fact that I got more than 1 ultra combo finish.

Once I set the difficulty to medium and got exactly 1 perfect and 1 ultra combo finish (with Sakura) I was able to unlock Akuma. WTF?

My inkling at the moment is fun but not up to SF3: 3rd Strike or Capcom Vs SNK 2 as far as Capcom fighters go. I'm finding it quite annoying that SHoryuken and Hadouken spams are somewhat viable again for shoto's, since Shoryuken's and EX Hadouken's seem to break Focus attacks, making it difficult for poor El Fuertr to get in at times.

And Sagat is rediculous, at least Zangief's as meaty to use as I can remember him being in a Street FIghter.

They build up pretty quickly, the winning streak award may take a bit of luck or time, but wins, medals and matches go by fairly quickly, I got the 50 ranked wins in one sitting pretty much.

Yeah, but I'm not much of an online player.
I'd much rather be playing with someone who's in the room with me.
So, I think I might not have enough motivation to hunt for the online trophies.

I just keep my distance from Zangief because of his annoying slams. Hey, I've also noticed Easy Seth is not even much easier than Normal Seth, and loves to spam the uppercut.

I've been using Guile in Challenge training and elsewhere, does anyone know how to pull off his super? It just ends up turning into his single kick which I can do easy.

Outi
23-02-09, 07:15 PM
I must've been able to pull of both his super and his ultra 'cause I beat the special moves trial (2nd trial on Normal) with all characters, but I can't remember how the move went.
Isn't it the one that you must start off by charging in the down/backward direction? And then you kinda twich the d-pad (or analog stick if you please) from forward to middle to up/forward and punch the kick button or buttons, depending on which move you wanna do... super or ultra.

I don't think there's any EASY TRICK for pulling off that move. You just gotta know your way 'round the d-pad well enough.

I also seem to have difficulty pulling those charge supers ( even Chun Li and Dictator's relatively easy ones ) on the PS3 D-Pad, I'll be trying it on my stick next time. Considering I mained Vega and Balrog in Super Turbo, and then Birdie for Alpha and could pull their supers off without problems; I'm wondering if it's maybe the PS3 pad not being quite so great or there being something slightly weird with IV's input reading.

Of course, it couldn't be me sucking, that's out of the question.

LOL...I just bought this game today, and oh my god...I am such a noob at it :p

Its the first time playing Street Fighter on a console, and not really used to all the controls, so im having trouble even in the easiest level ^^.

My favourites to use so far are Vega and Dalsim...and I really hate versing Chun-Li and Zangief, hate those damn throws he keeps on spamming <.<

I think the charge supers and ultras are really unpractical compared to the "regular" supers and ultras because you need to hold the direction for a ridiculously long time for the game to accept that you've now charged that direction.

That's why - even though I love her to bits - I don't take Chun-Li online, not EVER. 'Cause in a tight spot the risk of getting your ass whopped before you can perform the move is too high.

What's the online like guys? Any lag?

LittleDragonZ
24-02-09, 11:36 AM
Well, top priority is to ''Install'' the game, I've heard people complain about others not installing so it lags a bit. Otherwise I've heard it's all really Ryu, Ken and Sagat. This could be because of them being easy to use and cool like they are, or the fact people are too scared to venture into difficult characters.

Vega FTW!!! XD

I find that some of the Super Combo thingys are quite difficult to perform, some of the commands that you have to do just confuse me a bit, like Chun-Li's for example ^_^

@ Leady FF ^^
You can see the stability of the connection when choosing who to fight, so you can just say "no" to players who have a bad connection, thus effectively avoiding laggy matches. (Also, it's a good idea to install the game data because it significantly cuts down the load times before the matches... both online and offline)

@ LittleDragonZ
Yeah you see a lot of Ryu, Ken and Sagat, that's for sure. But it seems to me like Balrog is pretty popular too. I like to use mainly Sakura and Dan online.
I think somebody got pretty upset after losing to my Dan... At first, for a couple of matches, we were pretty equal when I was playing as Sakura and s/he was playing as Balrog. Then I switched Dan and completely owned his/her ass winning the match with two near-perfects and after that s/he just left XD

I <3 Dan

(No, seriously, he's my favourite Street Fighter character of all times)

The Install thing is pretty annoying, tonnes of people seem to have not done it and it can take a good 15 seconds or so to load a fight.

But as for lag the Online's pretty good; even on a 1bar connection it's tolerable, equivelant to a 3bar connection on Soul Calibur IV. I found a lot of people disconnecting though, more in two days of Street Fighter than all the time I spent on Soul Calibur. But it should be a good in a month or so when it's only people who actually want to play the game left.

The shoto/Sagat spam is pretty annoying, but I found that Guile mauls them, although he really shouldn't....
If I can find a reliable anti-air for Zangief ( better than his c.MP at least ) then I'll probably go back to maining him. Fuerte just can't cut it that well, I love the little guy, but he needs some buffs.

I haven't been able to post in a while (computer problems), but anyways now I've re-unlocked all characters (like I said earlier) and beaten all the normal trial mode challenges again, as well as getting a gold medal on all the normal survival challenges. I've also started to play online a bit more, which has been great so far.

The first thing I did when I started SFIV (except for watching the intro) was to install the game, and yes, it seems like most people haven't installed it, which is a bit annoying when playing online.

I usually only play against people with 3 or 4 bars (I haven't seen a single player with 5 bars yet). One of my first matches was against someone with 2 bars, and the whole match lagged terribly and basically became a button-mashing contest, then again, another match which had 3 bars started lagging really bad after a while. Other than that it's been pretty much lag-free.

I've only had one player quit on me (just as I was winning), I guess I've been lucky so far.

When I'm playing online I main Cammy, but if I win too easily (in player matches) I usually switch to another character or choose random to make it more fun, and people usually leave if you win too much. In ranked matches I tend to stick with Cammy though, but I haven't played ranked that much yet.

Just as I've read on forums, people seem to use Ken a lot. Probably 80% of the time my opponent chooses Ken. Still, playing against so many Kens makes them much easier to beat, especially since most of them have the same strategy (mainly spamming shoryuken all the time, leaving them open to grab or super/ultra combo). I have met (and lost to) a few good Ken players though, but when I lose it's mostly to other characters.

I dont really like Ken or any of those other generic characters :p theyre just annoying. I dont play online, but I should check sometime and see if the broadband works in the other room (doesnt in my room  )

I just unlocked Akuma, using E.Honda, and right now im just doing some of the challenges, just went through level 6 in Normal survival, and damn that got annoying, I was stuck on around 30% health from floors 10-20, or something like that, but I managed to make it :p

LittleDragonZ
27-02-09, 04:35 PM
Yeah, you're probably use to fighters, Outi. I'm not.

Zechs, he is mega cheap on Normal and higher. You just must use a balanced character like Ryu or Ken, make use of his down and backwards flying kick and Hadokens when you can. Otherwise your main goal is to use the R2 button to kick him in the head and then floor him lol. They are the strongest kicks. Plus I've even seen him spamming Ken's uppercut on Easy mode... But if you want to breeze through, try Easiest. I did find that easy myself.

I agree.
SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos has some really cheap/hard bosses as well (but it's also made by SNK Playmore, so that's probably why). I had a bit of trouble with Seth at first, but when you get used to his attack pattern he really is a pushover. When I played through the game on the hardest difficulty I beat him on my first try, using Cammy.

Though I can understand that some people have trouble with his constant teleporting, and use of the piledriver and shoryuken move, without those moves he really wouldn't be so "cheap" (especially the teleporting).

EDIT: Some of the trial mode challenges are pretty tough... I just reached Cammy's last hard trial, and it goes like this:
Cannon Strike > Heavy Punch > Heavy Cannon Spike > EX Focus Cancel > Heavy Cannon Spike > EX Focus Cancel > Gyro Drive Smasher.
This could take a while.

AThena was a bit of a pain but I never got to fight Arrimer so I don't know what he was like.

Rage Of The Dragons was probably the worst for me though, Abobo's bad enough but in the times I've played it I've yet to land a hit on the final boss Johann.

You can usually bait Seth into spamming the Dhalsim c.HP if you stand mid screen or so from him, leaving vulnerable to the old bread and butter j.HK -> c.HK. It's not fun, it's particularly stylish and it's not quick but it gets the job done I've found.

It's just ridiculously bad.I agree, the only reason I bought it is because it was so cheap (and I kinda expected it to be really bad).
A week or two after I got SvC I bought CvS2, which I have to say was the best 2d fighter I had ever played.

Anyway, back to Street Fighter IV. It's going pretty well, but I'm having trouble with the hard trial mode challenges <_<'. I've already beaten all time trial, survival and trial challenges on normal (and got gold on most), but the hard trials are just ridiculous. I'm also trying to beat the game on the 'Hardest' difficulty without losing any rounds, getting at least 1 perfect, 1 ultra combo finish and 5 or more first attacks (plus beat Gouken) to get the legendary champion trophy.

Online is also going pretty well, I've fought over 130 matches so far and my winning rate is about 80%. Yesterday I met a really good Abel player though, and he won 6 out of 9 matches against me.

I wonder if I'll ever get the platinum, it seems pretty hard...

Man, I grew up alongside Street Fighter series, also played hundreds of other 2D and 3D Fighting games cause I love the genre. But I don't have PS3 yet, so I havn't had the chance to try it out. But all the online videos showing gamplay and matches look really cool.

Sooner or later that game will be mine.

I just bought a 32" LCD HDTV today (finally ^^), and the game looks really nice on it. Before when I was playing on a 19" CRT SDTV, everything was much smaller, less vibrant and pretty blurry compared to how it is now.

I'm still trying to get more trophies, and I have around 63% now.
I've played about 210 online matches and my winning rate is a little bit lower now (76%). Just 290 matches to go ;)

By the way, does anyone here still play SFIV or have you all moved on to Killzone 2? =S
My brother will get that game on Monday or Tuesday, and I'll probably get it sometime as well, but I'll play some more SFIV and play through RE5 first.

I'm still playing it, although both my PS3 controllers are bust now so it's joystick all the way for me. I'm in a similar boat to you Nova, just a couple hundred more till I hit the 500 fight mark, though your ratio is better than mine ( about 69 - 71% ), I still struggle with Fuerte and Vega quite a bit.

Cammy's pretty mighty from what I've played of her and against her.
The anti-fireball window on her backfist seems a lot more generous now.
Also her recovery times seem pretty short, not to mention probably the best ultra for throwing out as a reversal.

I dont really like versing her...the CPU always spams her spinny kick, and it just gets really annoying, the only way I can try to combat it is the either jump over or up, and attack from the air, or low block and follow up before she can do it again :)

I havent really been playing it all that much lately, should though, I still need to get Gouken and Seth :)

I kind of moved on to Resident evil 5 last Thursday, but I got the platinum trophy a few days ago so now I'm back to SFIV again (though I play RE5 online as well, which is really fun). I'm also gonna start playing Persona 4 soon.

When you're playing against the CPU using Cammy, blocking her spiral arrows and countering usually works (like you said). Jumping in might also work, but if you're playing against a decent Cammy player online, you don't want to jump in and attack because she has great ways of countering that, either by jumping herself and using the air throw or by using cannon spike. The best tactic is probably to stay on the ground as much as possible (at least when you're near Cammy), play defensively and always be ready to block low attacks (especially spiral arrow). Also, cannon spike has really good priority, so keep that in mind (don't get too close to her when she's knocked down, unless you're ready to block).
