Just wondering if any of you guys have played either of these.

I've played Demon's Souls but never finished it then bought Dark Souls and even though it's more of the same (so far) the game world seems a lot bigger.
The game is very unforgiving as you'll notioce when you see the You Died screen quite alot. Funny thing is though this doesn't make you want to give up, if anything it makes you keep going back for more with more determination.

The opening movie to Dark Souls is fantastic, music is great and voice acting is pretty good too. Gone are the days of voice acting as bad as the original Resident Evil "I'm going with you. Chris is our old partner you know" or "It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking can take it with you" *shudder* . Truly awful, lol!

Got platinum in Demon's Souls, definitely one of the most enjoyable games I've played. Picked up Dark Souls too for PS3 but I have yet to get around to playing it, other stuff is holding my focus currently. It certainly looks great though from what I've seen.

You should definitely get it. It's hard and very unforgiving but thats part of it's charm. When you take one of those big bosses down you get a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment from it.

Buy buy buy!

You don't have to play online if you're really worried about being invaded.. though it takes away from the experience of the game.

I like the idea of being invaded, it actually adds to the already immense atmosphere.

I like it too, the only downside is people who go into it with pure trolling in mind. Scraping spear is the biggest problem in this regard as it rips your gear to pieces and makes you naked in a few hits, especially at lower level where durability is a lot lower than higher end pieces of equipment. Not an issue for me personally but I know that some newbies have been completely turned off the game by having their equipment destroyed and being unable to do anything about it.

i.... , i see.
i have a question is it possible to platinum this game offline or do you still need to go online for most of it?

You can get platinum completely offline. Being online just gives you a proper experience of the game since invading/being invaded is a big part of the gameplay along with having messages on the ground for hints etc. Think of this as playing offline.. I actually have a Chinese copy of Demon's Souls, since it was still not announced for a US/EU release yet when I bought it. Fortunately the Chinese and Korean versions are both in full English. The platinum can be a bit annoying to get though, I had to play through the game 5 times before I got it, but I didn't really mind since I liked the game so much.

As for Dark Souls, I think it's like an improved version of Demon's Souls, at least in most ways, and it's definitely one of my favorite games for ps3. I like how they basically made it one really big area and not separate ones like in Demon's Souls. Anyway, so far I've played it for around 140 hours and I'm getting pretty close to the platinum.

I prefer the good old "Jill sandwich", "It's really powerful, especially against living things" and "I have THIS!" :p
