I don't like Lu Bu...he is too overpowered. Okay,the good thing about this is that you have better chances on Chaos with him. But that's it. He is very strong as an enemy,nearly unbeatable...but as an ally,he sucks like every other officer,too. (ok,except Zhang Liao at He Fei or so)

I REALLY don't like what KOEI have done to Lu Bu's weapon in DW6. I ALWAYS played as Lu Bu in previous DW games, also, like Cao Cao said, yes, he is too overpowered!

I´d never liked Lu Bu very much but in the end he is the best one to fight on Chaos. And like the guys befor me said he is overpowered!!

I prefer him and his form/music/moves in the older titles, DW2/3 and 4. Especially his killer first charge in DW3. I liked his appearance much in 4, and since then I've just grown a bit bored and uninterested in him to be honest. Though glad Koei did try and revive him in 6 with his new look, however it didn't pull off because of his lack of reach compared to his previous. As being the best and one of the top 5 should be his speciality by default. Still, his moves are very flashy and that's where the Renbu has its strength.

Well, Lu Bu was classified as the single most powerful warrior in all of China so obviously he wasn't intended to be a weak character. :p

I don't agree what they did to Lu Bu on WO and WO2. Lu Bu making more appearances especially on first stages (Wei-2 as an example) made him a 'regular' enemy and not the feared overpowered Lu Bu from DW Series. Tadakatsu on the other hand appears on very few stages, mostly on Dream Stages.

Sames as LDZ I prefer the classic-looking Lu Bu, he was clearly twice harder and stronger than any other general, DW4 and DW3 Lu Bu are my favorites, appearance I prefer the one on DW6, maybe with an Halberd other than the classic one would look better.

@Gabranth: I agree about him being in too many stages, it's kind of overdone and makes him feel less of a threat. In the older titles I replayed Hu Lao to mainly fight Lu Bu, I guess it gave him more purpose and made the event more special then it's considered today.

The only Lu Bu I liked was the DW3 as he didn't brag about his strength of anything and wasn't powered up he just went "your going to die scum" and then promptly beat the crap out of you even if you were pumped out you usually struggled.

The others attitudes I don't like at all they go to much into how strong he is and really he isn't even with low levels I don't have much problems with him and the only reason he's strong is because of those power ups he has whether being a commander, the red aura from DW6 or the musou rage from DW5 and they make anyone who has them strong not just him so take those away and he's rather easy to beat.

Actually playing him is alright though his KO quotes annoy me bar his DW3 one.

Omigod! Dynasty Warriors 6 got really interesting once I unlocked Lu Bu and played through his musou mode! Dong Zhuo, Zhang Jiao, Yuan Shao, Liu Bei, Cao Cao and Sun Quan VS The Player!? OMIGOD THIS WILL BE SO AWESOME IN FREE MODE!!! XDDD

Lu Bu's appearance in DW6 it's great! He looks like such a bad*ss. His new weapon looks super cool and offers a very unique fighting style from other characters. He's still a terminator-type monster, but I guess that's exactly the idea. Very convenient when you want to destress by just choping and slicing puny little soldiers or officers one after another...

But it's unavoidable to point that he has one of the most silly profiles in terms of character's psychology. It's pretty stupid. This guy has no other conversation topic aside from how ridiculously strong he is and how he just lives to beat the crap out of the next naive warrior that crosses his way...

But I try not to think about this and enjoy him for just his gamplay, and things will go fairly good.

Lu Bu is one of those characters that is good to use in battle but is very annoying to look or hear about at the same time. I don't mind him too much but I still don't like him compare to other characters.

Lu Bu is great in the games for an incredible challenge, when you come against him you know your in for a fight.

To use though I find him boring as hell, he is too broken (and DW6 aside thanks to bow users) he is always the strongest and best at getting insane numbers of KO's. Using him takes the challenge out of the game, thankfully though he is generally harder to unlock (as in takes more time/requirements) so you have got to enjoy the challenge of the game first.

Lu Bu game wise always annoys me because he owns me the first time I play Hu Lao gate lol. The again I am always wary of him and avoid him most times on DW games, until I have a much higher level character to beat his ass :)

He was a hot headed arrogant warlord, but then again most warlords are like that in history even with a bit of narrative license in the novel. As Baden said he was easily out smarted on the field and got betrayed. He is badass though in all the DW games and a joy to play as so for me a more love hate relationship with old Lu Bu.

I find Lu Bu kinda annoying to use actually, I'm not used to his height either, after using the other characters and then him you are looking at a bit of a different perspective, it's a bit off putting and takes getting used to.

His story modes are always a bit more interesting though, particularly in DW6 which is just an invasion on major battles, completely incorrect historically but it gives a further challenge and more targets to achieve late in the game.

also i think that Koei may have got the wrong idea about him. i think he wouldn't have been anywhere near as arrogant or fool hardy as theymake out. so it's quite annoying to me

I like Lu Bu a lot, but I do agree he is overpowered for normal play. I usually use him when I want to mercilessly wail on people. I also agree that he often has the most interesting stories. I also try to avoid using him in versus modes, back when, as it's kinda unfair. I like that he's not the best to use in any of the challenge modes, take that you overgrown rabies infested dog. I love using that against friends who play as him.

A lot of people have been saying that Lu Bu is way too over-powered, but thats his character. If you gave him less power it wouldn't be the fearless and strongest character you see in the game. The reason people in the game are always like, "It..it...it's Lu Bu!!!" is because of his power and how mighty he is. I love the strength that he has but the thing i hate is his cocky personality. Thats what makes me always want to slaughter him. But hey, thats his character and it would be a bad idea for Koei to change that idea.

Personally,i loved Lu Bu until he was altered for DW6.I always max out every character on all DW games and after hours levelling zhuge liang or yuan shao,nothing relaxes me more than Lu Bu and a screen full of yellow turbans.Also,i find his character,as portrayed in the book,strangely appealing.He did bring about dong zhuos defeat but he doesn't get much credit for it.

He has appeared too much for me to create the same fear that I was feeling in first few DW games I played. Sure he is tough but there are other characters at certain times that are just as annoying like Zhang Liao (+16 atk!:eek:)/Gan Ning at Hei Fei, Guan Yu at Fan Castle (more than the usual leader powerup), Sima Yi/Zhuge Liang at Wu Zhang Plains. They were all known for various things but noone seems to mention them.

I remember when I played DW5 (Which was my first DW game), I thought you had to beat Lu Bu on Hu Lao gate to get through it because I didn't notice the other way in. It took me ages to beat him with a low level Guan Yu but I did it in the end and it gave me a great sense of achievement. Also continuing on from what Onislash said I found Zhang Fei really hard to beat on the battle of Chang Ban on Zhuge Liang's musou mode because I was LVL1. In the end I did the Yellow Turban rebellion as him over and over again to get levelled up.

Agreed with Onislash on the "too many appearances" thing.
He's pretty much spammed all over the place, forcing you to beat him up every time. After having to kick his behind 5+ times in Strikeforce I've started to think of him more as a constant annoyance than an actual "mighty warrior".

Not that his cockroach-like outfit helps him much, especially after the DW6 restyling.

...that, and his 'pike-shuriken of doom' thingy is just...just...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Sorry, I couldn't resist...it's just that laughable.

Lu Bu was my fav char in DW3, liked him a bit in 4, 5 was better. But now his look, his weapon and his moveset make me don't want to play as him, among many others in DW6 as a matter of fact. But overal I think it's right he is powerful and be difficult to beat, it's what makes him Lu Bu and different to the others. I think Lu Bu was at his best and hardest to beat in DW3, just seems to have gotten easier and easier as time passes, becoming less of the mightest of the land.

Big fan of the LuBu-Nator, His power was too great for one spear.. Now he has an immense Spear-Warglaive! I've never taken much interest in Lu Bu, Now he just catches my eye and lets me understand his power a tad more. ^^
I love his new moveset, I just dislike his height when playing as him. :p
