Don't tell to much about yourself, just say what you do as a career or what you want to do as a career in the future.

I would like to be a gym instructor or maybe a historian, or maybe a music editor, or an actor, OR a wrestler (in TNA), can't make my mind up to be quite honest!

I drawed since I was 3 years, sitting in that chaair drawing a world she likes because her life was so unperfect, drawing friends because I couldn't go outside playing with people of my age. It's because I love too much drawing that it leads me to shoes design, I really want to work in fashion but it's not that easy so I'm just back to reality.

Well i studying animation and is a cosplayer:p and hope to become a animator yet at the same time have the time to cosplay:p
Right now I'm studying Film and Media. I plan on having a career in the media industry either working for some big media corporation or a company like Universal or Paramount (maybe KOEI or Capcom)
Next year I get to apply for an internship with either Fox, Universal, Paramount, Pixar, Disney, or NBC as a part of my capstone for school.
My career?
I don't know... I'll probably just get any shitty job that pays me 1500€ per month, most likely I'll become a cleaning lady. And on my spare time I'll just, y'know... do whatever.
Sorry, I'm not very ambitious.

O_o If you are so non ambitious as you pretend, I wonder why you spend so much time and energy making your hat and clothes and take pics to show it on that forum!!!

Because... getting a job as a milliner in Finland is next to impossible. If I moved to England or France or Italy, then yeah... I'd most likely work as a milliner. But the only way I could work as a milliner here is if I start my own business. And the chances of that business going bankrupt is something like... 90%.
I'll probably make hats and bags and whatever in the future, but that won't be my job.

Makes more sense to just set up a shop online or on eBay. That's where the real money is. No need to pay a lease to have a store where only a few people will visit it every day.

I'm studying to be a clinical psychologist. That's right, folks: I'll be that guy in the big, comfy chair while you lie down on the couch and tell me your problems :D

Why do you think, you'll have more chance at England or France? Trust me, I'm working in that fashion world, it's impossible to go too, in England, you have to be a superstar friend and in France, have tons of money!!!!
Jsun, if you are my accounter, i'll make my ebay company lol
Why do you think, you'll have more chance at England or France? Because there are only like 4 milliner shops in Finland and there's a tradition for hats in England.

Really, how come? O_o but still it would be difficult to make those shop sell your products.
Finnish people don't wear hats. It's considered... well... a pain in the ass, basically. In the winter it's facking long and cold so most people will rather wear something that keeps them warm and is practical instead of something that is pretty much just made to look good. I can't make a facking borsalino that will protect you from freezing temperatures. It's not possible.
And because people don't wear high quality hand-made designer hats in the winter, they don't want to buy one in the summer either... 'Cause when it comes to hats people think there's no point bying something that expensive if you can only wear it in the spring and summer.
Sure I could make some hats and ask if some milliner shop would sell them... but I wouldn't make enough money that way... I can't make a living by making hats at HOME! I'd need a hat studio, complete with sewing machines, hat blocks, material storage, steam pots, irons, hammers, forceps... all the tools I need for hat making... And if I had a hat studio, I'd have to pay the rent for it, the electric bill, water bill... so I'd have to make enough money by selling my hats at someone else's milliner shop to be able to pay the rent for my apartment AND the hat studio AND all the materials I need for making hats AND my own basic needs.
NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE!

I understand what you mean but still I want to believe in you, well maybe because I have nothing else to believe into lol I just think you are very talented.
To be honest, people always run for cheapiest things, not things made by passion (it's an old well know story), your products may sound like "luxury" lol, it's just, they all care so much about our money now.
About the shop, you don't even need to explain to me, I recently made a work placement with a designer so I know it's so hard to get money to make everything run!
T-T what's a disappointment, you taught me nothing new, at least, you make me be so curious about how to make a hat. Do you need a last like in shoes? And I never though you need all that to make a hat? (at least it's not one of those big machines to make shoes... maybe worst lol)
Hat making requires lots of special tools. But obviously you don't need all the tools for ONE hat. It's just that different materials require different tools.
For example... If you wanna make a felt hat, which is like the easiest material for hat making, you'll need a hat block, a steam pot, some milliner pins, a hammer, a strap of some sort, some hardeing agent and a brush.
If you make a paper string hat (for example), you're again going to need most of this stuff... except the brush... but you might need an iron, depending on what hardening agent you're using.
Cloth hat... You probably won't need the strap, the hardening agent or brush (except if it's velour). You might not even need the steam pot, hat block, milliner pins or hammer... it really depends on what kind of hat you're making. But you'll obviously gonna need a sewing machine, you'll most likely need an overlocking machine and an iron for attaching some backcloth.
It gets even more complicated if you're making a leather, fur or leather+fur hat...
Also you'll always need the obvious tools... measuring tape, scissors, pins, tailor's chalk (or silver pen with leather and fur)... and maybe a surgical blade for felt, leather and fur.

Thank you, I was always curious because I always though that it was with the stretch like in shoes that the hat turns to be round anyway ^^ I will sleep less stupid tonight

For now, I work occasionnaly, when I need it, I help old persons performing task they can't do anymore, but it's starting to get boring, and for later I plan to work with animals (like assisting a veterinary), or, if I can't do otherwise, resuming my studies at the nurse school (but not sure if I'll love it anymore :/).
The problem is, I think, I didn't found yet THE job which could be perfect for me...
So I want to make several experiments in the world of work.
It's not really important to have a big wage and have a lot of money, it's more important to love what you do, IMO...

Yes, Hebi, it's difficult to find THE dream job, nowadays... :s
At the moment, I'm looking for some student jobs, but it's hard to find when you live in a tiny village far from city & that you haven't car... >_<
Plus, employeers always ask you to have an experience in their domain, that I don't have >_< Feel so isolated in my tiny village :s
I dream to do a lot of job, so much to list lol XD
Good luck in assisting a veterinary job, Hebi :)
Hope we'll all find a way, a good way for our future ^^

hmm well for a quite a long time when I was little I'd wanted to be a manufacturing jeweller which strangely enough seems more possible than ever. But, I'll probably end up becoming a language teacher, or doing something with Japanese at least (I'd rather be doing something with that than Sociology; although Sociology sounds fancy I don't really like it and I'm only doing it because the degree I'm taking says I have to). If I haven't got any great options by the time I finish my undergraduate I'll take honous in Japanese (if I score well enough by the time I'm done), and either way explore my options further. I'll probably have a part time job by then or i'll be madly looking for one, too...

Well, I guess that is to be somewhat expected in such a profession, but at least you're enjoying it, thats the main part :)
Yeah, ok then...only recently ive put in my university application, and my top preference was a combined bachelor or education/bachelor of arts, so that I could study to become a history teacher...now all I need to do it get the good marks so I can actually make that pass mark (^.^)

im a freelance composer, and take that freelance quite literally cause i dont charge for it.
in fact making money is in the lowest regions of my life's goals.
In the future i would like to be kept to myself and not be bothered by actual matters.
However i have a slight craving to become a teacher, not on a school though but just everyday.
