DW2 with Lu Xun at Hu Lao Gate. In my day 4 hit combos were the max, :eek:. Chi Bi took me forever to win, as Cao Cao kept finding every meatbun in China.

Mine was with Zhou Yu on his first stage the Yellow Turban Rebellion. Wow what a good decision that was to pick DW2 over a Dead or Alive game. And since loving Dynasty Warriors 2 nothing has surpassed the fun I had with DW3.

Dynasty Warriors on the PSX/Psone! It wasn't bad but I don't think it stood up very well to the likes of Tekken & SoulBlade/Edge.
I was really pleased with the direction they took the series in the with DW2 and so on. So much better.

the first one i owned was DW3XL. i had no idea who anyone was, or what was going on. i'd seen a demo for DW3 and i liked the look of it. i remember getting it from a game store next to a car garage when my dads car was getting fixed. the bummer was my mum had to buy it as it was a 15 :confused:

I cant even remember, it must have been Dynasty Warriors 4. I used to go round my friends house almost every weekend and play co-op. It was some of the best times in my early days.

I'm really surprised that DW5XL was your first. Didn't you ever play them when you worked at GAME?
I was forever changing the games in the PS2 pod in the store and putting DW games in when I worked there. They would get a good couple of hours at lunch time when the college / school kids came in!

My first game was Dynasty Warriors 3, which at the time i thought was one of the best games ever made haha.I think most of the fans here would've thought that for the first DW game they had played xD for me it was DW4, but I did end up going back to play DW2 and DW3 . . . and I thought that they were all pretty awsome at the time (^.^)

My First game was DW3, absolutly love it and I think I played it untill it acutally broke Lol.

My first Character was Zhou Yun. When I bought the game I wanted to play Zhen Ji straight away - Loved her True Musou if you timed it right with the 6th Combo. Bought everyone of the series since then.

Dynasty warriors was the first I played of the series at a friends house and found it to be meh for a fighting game. I bought DW2 though as my first PS2 game when the PS2 was first out in the UK, still have the original console and it works considering all the horror stories I read about in the early PS2 days. Sometimes I even go on DW2 just to play the original yellow turban level, which by the way is the best version ever in the series. That level was huge and Zhang Jiao didn't sound like a nutter from a street corner, and he looked like a character you would want to play.

Yeah, if they made another poor fighting game I don't think I would have bothered with DW2. I remember watching the videos of DW2 on IGN and thought it was one the best games I had ever seen, with all the soldiers running around and how amazing the graphics looked then lol.

When I played the original Dynasty Warriors it was after I played the others and it felt like the most dated thing ever. I mostly got it to be able to say I have them all.

The first Dynasty Warriors I played was Tactics although the first proper one I played was DW5. I got Tactics because I recognised the character's names from a strategy game I played once called Fate Of The Dragon.

The first ever Dynasty game I ever played was when the first ever Dynasty game that came out on the PS2, totally different from the first one (which was like Tekken in many levels).

Technically a Dynasty Warriors 3 demo, which inspired me to get 2! I loved 2 however. I really liked the characters, the fighting, the display maps (I don't know why but I liked that the commanders had a bigger T thing, which I think they should have!) and the music.
