October 28, 2009 - Koei Co., Ltd. has successfully launched its historical strategy series Romance of the Three Kingdoms in an App version for the iPhone/iPod touch called “Romance of the Three Kingdoms TOUCH” on the App Store. This title is Koei's first outing for the iPhone/iPod touch applications and it will be available for download in 19 different countries, including Japan, North America, United Kingdom, and France.

RTK TOUCH is set in 2nd -3rd Century Imperial China, where the three kingdoms of Wu, Wei, and Shu are fighting for supremacy. Players will have to choose one of the famous generals and attempt to unify all of China in this war-history strategy title. Based on the very first, original RTK title, RTK TOUCH has been remade to immaculately fit the iPhone/iPod touch for a deeply intriguing experience.

Players can touch territories on strategy maps as well as touch on several troops on the battle map to enlarge them and get more detailed and concrete information about the war, and also flick the screen to change officer lists and battle commands, having this complex, strategic utility all at a touch of their fingertips.

In order for beginners to get better acquainted with, and easier proceed thorough the game, there is a fulfilled amount of support functions such as a tutorial mode, an encyclopedia, as well as hints and tips, all giving players the opportunity to enjoy the finesse of territory occupation with ease. There is also a newly added scenario “Gathering of Heroes”, letting players enjoy and relive their historic dreams as the heroes of the Three Kingdoms.

That looks really awsome....I really want to get that, I already have the ipod touch...just need to find some way or actually getting the app onto it (^.^)

This saddens me. Why does Koei waste time on making this kind of stuff? I guess some could like it, but i doubt that it'll be a hit. Would have been much better for the DS or PSP or any regular cellphone. EVERYTHING would have been better than to make it for an apple phone/pod. But then again i am a really, really extreme apple hater, so i guess you guys can just go ahead and ignore this. :)

hmm I don't know, it might not be such a swing and a miss, it depends on how popular games for the iphone/touch become :)
