Yesterday, at the Inauguration Day, America finally got its first African-American President :)
Although I wasnt up for the most part(it was 3 in the morning round here) from what I saw, it was one of the best moments in American history.
Anyway, now that Obama has gotten down to work, in fixing the world, what does everything think about President Barrak, and how do you think his term in office is going to go?

I saw his inauguration at work, I think people talk a way too much about it, because until now the only thing he did it's just promises, I'll wait his first act to see how he is!

Meh, I'm just going to sit back and watch how this goes, though I read a few newspapers that he did something right, for once.
Lets see how it will turn out, he will have a lot of time to prove what he is trully capable of as President of USA.
And GLP its Barack Obama. :p

Dammit, I knew I was going to get at least some part of it wrong <_<

I'm sure he'll be a great president. I don't agree with him closing Guantanamo down though.

Well...I agree with what hes done there, the only reason that its still open is because Bush was in the mindset that torture was a sufficient way of extracting information, or even a confession, but as we can see, it hasnt really brought around all that much in the way of catching the terrorists.
Also, closing Guantanamo doesnt mean that they're not going to be doing nothing to get more information, it just means that theyre going to do it in a more decent manner.

I guess that's fine though. Just as long as they stop them naughty terrorists! D;<Hah, you don't know the very first thing he did then? He signed that Guantanamo would be closed by the end of the year. While no one likes water boarding, it did keep some of the worst people alive in a jail. Now we are going to transfer them back to their respective countries. Almost every middle eastern government is saying "No! No! NO!!! We don't want terrorists in our country! Please! No! You can't do this to us!" That means they will be moved to Prisons in America, if the states however do not allow their transfer they will be sent to Europe. So... Americans don't want them in our backyard, their own countries don't want them, Europe might just get them. No one forgets the train station bombings.
Now that I got that out of my system... Should we have a politics topic? I know its news, but its the kind of news everyone knows about and should be talked about through MSN, and other websites where they endorse things like this. Because this is a sensitive issue, I wanted Hilary Clinton. But should I be allowed to just make a topic about that? Should I make topics about Mary or Jesus? Or about many other things. Or making a topic on rigged elections. It just doesn't seem like something for a board like this. But then again maybe Koei Corporation has brainwashed me.

I'll suppose we will have to wait and see what he does. No matter what, someone isn't going to like his decisions.

How can you approve of quantanamo bay! do you hav eany idea what there doing in there besides there are innocent people in there not just terrorists althrough knowing what goes on in there i wouldnt be surprised if some off them become terroists when they come out
LOL I just saw this article which was recently archived, but SOOOO many videos have been popping up about it. Obama is reading an audio version of a book and he is swearing. It's hilarious!

Obama can't screw up... simply because most of the world's leaders are hoping to co-operate with him. He's getting so much support from politicians outside the States that he can really only make things better.
He's not gonna end up being remembered as just another awful US president.
I'd like to think that USA is in pretty good hands now.
(And I think I've said that a million times now XD)
EDIT:
Oh! And closing down Guantanamo was the right thing to do even though now they'll have to figure out what to do with the people there.

Can I put in an early vote and say no, we shouldn't make a section for it? I think it'd totally ruin this place, and the fact that the main reason I left the last forum I did was because of a section like that (it got way out of hand to the point I felt threatened to be on the whole site at all).
Anyway, back on topic, I don't really care about Obama much, but I didn't like how much screentime his inaguration hogged up when there was also important 'local' news going down as well like thousands of Australians losing their jobs (I know I said on other foums they died, I got it wrong. Sorry), which I personally find more important than listening to Obama all day. Surely giving up one news slot couldn't have hurt... and if nothing else and people had really wanted to see it, I'm sure it can be found on Youtube or something like that.
Otherwise yeah I don't really care. He hasn't seemed to do that much although I didn't know of his decision about Guantanamo(sp?) bay, which I'll admit has me interested.
